Leefest and our Lexington Gig
Stu and Charlie making (some sort of) point on the Mainstage at the wonderful LeeFest on Friday. A truly wonderful event, go next year, 3 thumbs up.
Our biggest headline show yet, at the 230 (or so!) capacity Lexington in London on October 17th only only has about 30 tickets or so left before it sells out, and we don’t want you good eggs to miss out. Hence these words.
You can get your advance tickets here - http://buff.ly/1tQfrft
Oh, and thanks to Robin Pope for the photo, cheers Rob!
See you laters chum(p)s.
A Hard Day’s Night 50th Anniversary Gig
A great little shot of Tom + Stu backing up BBC Radio 4 ‘The Now Show’s Mitch Benn on ‘You Can’t Do That’ during the little ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ 50th celebration gig that we put on last week. Thanks to Goldheart Assembly and Careless Sons for putting in a shift! A lovely, lovely night!
Lux Lisbon play Leefest!
We’ll be at LeeFest. We’ll be playing this fabulous festival, on July 11th, in the countryside just south of London, almost Kent.
Onstage at 5pm. Great, great little festival, and Frightened Rabbit (ace) and the Cribs (double ace), Childcare etc are are playing so, do it. It’s commutable from London too pretty much if you wanna kip in your own bed.

Tom Cooper Esq
As many of you will know from our Lux Lisbon Loves series of videos, Lux Lisbon’s new axewieldingharmoniser is none other than Charlotte’s Cuz Mr Tom Cooper. And here he is…enjoying his debut gig at the Cluny a couple of weeks back. #justlikethat (thanks to Jo Oliver/Stephen from WheretogoPR for the photo).
I know you are all a lovely bunch, so leave a little welcome message for him below. Or don’t. Both are options.
Cluny, Newcastle - 3rd May 2014
Waddagreatgangofguys. Thanks for coming along guys and to Immy Williams, Mat Hunsley and Yellow Creatures, loved it. See you all on our return on September 27th :)

Listen/purchase: Lux Lisbon Loves - Volume 1 by Lux Lisbon
Live at the Cluny - May 3rd
We’ll be playing a show at the Cluny on Saturday May 3rd in order to welcome Mr Tom Cooper to axe-wielding (that’s guitar to you and me) duties in Lux Lisbon.
We trust he will be given a warm reception despite his frankly detestable personality and love of below average football/footballers.
I jest. Or do I! I do. Or do I!! Yes.
Hope you see you there, the other acts are all ace and indeed all 3 of them (Mat Hunsley, Immy Williams and Yellow Creatures) won selection to play at Evolution Emerging Festival around the Ouseborn Valley in venue close by only 3 weeks after our gig, so they are all on top of their game. It’s a pleasure to have them play with us.
See you there!
Get Some Scars - Free Download
Don’t (you dare) forget that you can download ‘Get Some Scars’ for free (and watch the video above).
We’re really glad that you all seem to be enjoying our youtube series of covers.
We’re playing the Cluny in Newcastle on May 3rd to Launch our forthcoming single “Memento Mori’.
Week 5 - ‘Lux Lisbon Loves….’ - We The Wild - Body Electric (Blue)
In full flow with this now. Scroll down for the rest of the videos in the series.
Body Electric Blue is quite simply the best song I’ve heard so far this year. Great little video for this too. Don’t know an awful lot about these chaps We The Wild, it’s just this song that I’m familiar with, but it’s wonderful.
Week 4 - ‘Lux Lisbon Loves….’ - Keston Cobblers Club - Beam
As you might now know, we’re in week 4 of our series where we share a version of a great song, that you might not know, and that someone else wrote.
This is the wonderful ’Beam’ by Keston Cobblers Club and we’ve put this up a little earlier than the normal Friday slot this week to point out the they play in Stu’s stomping grounds of Newcastle and Durham this week, on 20th and 21st March
Another wonderfully creative and hardworking band, the video for this track is beautiful, and we can personally attest that it goes down a treat in their live show. Our version is definitely a little mellower.
Hope you are enjoying it all!
Week 3 - ‘Lux Lisbon Loves….’ - Spring Offensive - Hengelo
This is the 3rd in out cover series of great, great songs that you might not necessarily know about.
Spring Offensive are an inspirationally hard-working band from Oxford and Hengelo is my favourite tracks of theirs - really clever chord change timings ,a lovely melody and a skittering beat.
Their debut album ‘Young Animal Hearts’ came out last week after many years of relentless gigging and creation and today they head off on a European tour. Have a gander at what they get up to, any success couldn’t happen to harder working chaps. I especially enjoy the aesthetic on this video.
Further recommended - any of about 7 or 8 videos on their youtube channel as well as the 'Story of Hengelo' video
Don’t (you dare) forget that you can grab a free download of ours too if you fancy. It’s called 'Get Some Scars'. Truesay.
